How to Install Apps on Android 8.0 Without “Unknown Sources” Setting
How to download and install apps on Android without the unknown sources setting now what you see on my screen here is something you’re going to see on android 8.0 a 9.0 and moving forward now what this is it.
If you try to install an app from somewhere, that’s not from the Google Play Store. So like this picture you came here or Amazon or some of those other like maybe shady websites or you’re trying to download a game, and it’s not from Google you’re going to get this little notification saying for your secure your phone’s not allowed to download stuff that’s not from a trusted place. Now in old versions of Android, you could go ahead and go into settings and click it one box. it allowed installations from unknown sources.
Now Google’s remove that Android 8.0 and now Android 9.0 and you limit this to individual apps. So if you download something Google Chrome. You have to give Google Chrome access to install stuff on your phone for security reasons. If you install something in Samsung’s browser or slack or some other weird app you’ve downloaded each app you have to give individual permission to that way the whole phone isn’t just open for apps and services to like minimum that maliciously like slide things in your phone and causes problems.
So what I put on here is gone ahead and opened APK mirror, and I downloaded PUBG. Go ahead and come down here tap download APK or Download the game. Now, this download will show you how this works now you go ahead and click OK, and now you will be back to what I showed you the above picture.
This is Android L pono and 9.0 telling you you cannot download and you know install apps. So you go ahead and tap Settings you’ll come in here and now allow from this source this is allowing apps from unknown places to be installed through Google Chrome. Go ahead and tap that and now you’ve allowed it.
taps back and you will back to the original installation page tap install, and there it is. You have now successfully installed and downloaded all that an application q Android. And it did not come from the Google Play Store. So that’s it it’s that simple if you do this on something other than in chrome you’re going to have to do the same steps for that specific act this is basically Google’s way of tightened down purity and keeping some of those malicious apps and things away from you.
